When using the mySmartControl app for the first time, the user is automatically assigned the role of “administrator”. This can be changed later in the “Members” menu.
However, in other cases, a member must be created and managed in the following way.
1. Go to the menu with the “hamburger” icon ( ☰ ) located in the top left of the screen,
2. Next, select the “Settings” option,
3. Then select the “Manage organization” option,
4. Then select the desired organization,
5. Select the “Members” option.
6. In the top left of the screen, there is an option to add a new member.
And if members have already been created, you will see them listed below.
If you click the “Add member” option, a screen appears in which you can:
- invite the new member by entering the member's email address,
- enter the name shown in the app,
- add the location(s) that the administrator or the member can see,
- which notifications the member should receive (see the explanation below),
- which role the new member should be assigned (“Administrator” or “Member”)
If you click on an already created member, you will arrive at the same screen as when creating a new member. Here you can adjust pre-set settings for this member. However, here you can also delete this member (including a confirmation prompt when “Saving” to verify if you really want to delete the member).
Under “Locations”, you can specify which locations may be displayed by the administrator or the member.
Under “Notifications”, you can specify which notifications the “Administrator” or the “Member” should receive regarding the locations to which they are linked. These notifications can arrive via a “Push” message, but also via the “Chat” or by “E-Mail”. Each message type can also be found in the corresponding tab.
However, only the “Administrator” can determine which type of notification is sent to an “Administrator” or a “Member”. These can be individually turned on or off on each tab using the slider under “Alarms” and “Other”. The sliders shown on the right side of the image below are therefore not visible to a “Member”.
